My daughter is leaving for boot camp March 24th from AZ.  Is there anyone out there that has a son/daughter leaving that date or on that date from AZ?

Hi azmom, My son leaves 6 days after your daughter. Less then 30 days, are you holding up ok?

Doing good but I have my moments.  I just can't believe how fast the last few months have past.  I'm so excited for her and so proud!  She has been working out a lot and has been meeting with a trainer the past 6 weeks.  She has two more weeks with the trainer and will be on her own the last week.  It has really paid off.  She will be going in being strong and ready.  She has been studying a lot as well.   Just hope it warms up a bit for her.  She doesn't know what cold is.  LOL

 How are you holding up?

azmom, check your My Page.

I'm doing OK. Once March arrived, I think my feelings/emotions went to another level. I will be just fine, this is about him and not me.....that's what I tell myself. Ha!

Yes, your daughter will be experiencing quite a change with the weather. She will be ready and will excel with all that training. Good for her! Knowing my son is ready for the fitness part gives me some help. It's the studying and long days that concern me. BUT, he can do it! Just like I can be a proud Navy Mom!

Yes! My son is also leaving that day from AZ. He is a depper and was originally scheduled for June so we just found out that he will be going in a few weeks. We are excited and very nervous.

oh! It looks like (and I know we won't know for sure until we receive the official letter later) but their PIR may be the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. I booked refundable tickets already on Southwest (in case I need to move the date around.)

PIR will either be 05/15/2015 if he is in a Push Division and fills a division from the TG from the week before or 05/22/2015 if he has the typical 9 Fridays.

Johanna, I just booked my room and I went with graduation being the 22nd as well but can easily be switched to the week before without penalty. (used hotel points :)  I hope they are in a push division so that I can get my airline tickets (SW as well) for fewer points.  I will however book for the 22nd for the flights and if I need to change them I can with no problem.  So proud and so excited for our kids.

Are you going to Meps and then to the airport?

Thanks Lemonelephant...good to know about the push division

Yes azmom, the entire family will be going up to MEPS and then on to the airport. I have two younger boys (elementary school aged) that will miss their older brother just as much as me and my husband. We will be staying the night and going to a spring training game while we are in town (hoping that will help cheer up our younger boys.)

It looks like we will be meeting soon Johanna.  Has your son said what time he needs to be at MEPS or when his flight will be leaving.  We haven't heard anything yet.  I'm sure it will be a huge adjustment for all of you.  The game will take their mind of their brother leaving for a few hours.  We have 14 more days to spend as much time with our kids until boot camp.  Enjoy every moment!

These next few weeks are going to fly by! No details yet about flight times. Looking forward to seeing you at MEPS!

My son will also be leaving for MEPs on March 23 and flying out March 24. March 21 he will be the best man in his older brother's wedding. Wow is March a bittersweet month!
