Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

how long is training before they go to Aschool

Thanks, just wondering and I know already things change all the time.

We have a friend in our city whose son is S Pact. I'll see if she is on N4M
My daughter receives her orders this week or next with graduation 5/15/15. I am looking for encouragement here regarding SPACT program and sadly I'm not finding it. Every time I mention it, people stop talking to me about it and say things like , I wish we had connected sooner... Why is there not any success stories out there?! My heart is sinking even as I try to remain motivational, positive and upbeat for my 20 year old who staked 6 years of her life on a recruiter's career advice.
My son is APACT and has a good friend that is SPACT. His friend is from our home town and is on a sister ship to my son's. His friend loves it!!! He has been in 2 years now. He actually hasn't even tried for a rate because he loves what he is doing. His mom isn't on this site or I'd have her write about it here. I read lots of negative also but the only complaint my son has had so far is how much "down" time he has had without a car. He likes to stay busy and there is a lot of waiting and sitting so far. I know once they deploy it will get busy! I agree with Michael's mom that the good side is that they really don't know what a specific rate does until they get to the job and if they don't like it - well, it is too late. But with PACT, they can make that choice after seeing the jobs.
I also have a daughter that was recently sworn in and she joined s-pact. I would love to have more information about this program. Just concerned with the undecided decision will put her at bottoms up and a uncertain future.i have read the comments from navy for dad's and even more concerned.

Hello, my granddaughter is coming home tomorrow for 10 days before going to Norfolk VA, she is in the SPACT and will be deploying not long after getting there, Most people I have talked to said this was a huge mistake, and her recruiter actually led her to believe this was good,  and she would have a job by the  time she left boot camp, of course we found out right away that that was not true, however she seems to be OK with it, I'm just hoping once she gets on her ship, she wont hate it so much that she gets discouraged, she is a smart girl, and has a positive outlook on most things, so I'm hoping she doesn't loose her outlook and from things I have read she may be able to strike for a job in 9 months. If she is actually ready. Is this true? I am probably the one that is concerned, and I'm sure she knows what's going on much better than I do, "lol" Thanks

My son worked 3 months in a job he didn't like but he worked hard and have it his all! His chief noticed and he has been moved to the area he loves. I think he learned a great life lesson!
