Hello, I am new to this adventure with my youngest daughter. Although, I've been a sister of 2 military brothers, one Air Force late 80's and the other Navy -late 70's, this is my first experience as a mother. Totally supportive but scared and other emotions all rolled up at once. My daughter is currently set to leave for boot camp in January. Looking for support, advice and all information that I can obtain. Thank you for allowing us to have this support system. I will read and write about my experiences as often as I can.

Thanks again,

Becky

Hey spring Tx mom! I'm also in tomball/spring. My son is in A school in lackland (San Antonio) and we are actually on our way back home from spending the day sight seeing with him. I understand all your worried and emotions. It is a rollercpaster and very hard in the beginning. Especially not having the freedom to just call them while in boot camp but it DOES get easier. Now my son is schedule to go to Bahrain in September so that will be a whole other basket of emotions but I know I will get through it. Prayers to u!
Proudmama1 you were lucky to have your son in Texas for A school. And I will keep you and your son in our prayers. I know that will be hard to have him so far but I guess this is what they signed up for, it just doesn't make it any easier.
Thank you for reaching out to me. It's so good to have people to connect with
Hi I'm in Southlake near DFW airport. My son leaves for BC in 15 days, 5 hrs, 40 min. Not that I'm counting or anything. We have been fulfilling his "bucket list" of "stuff to do before I leave". He is deep in thought these days, and he actually likes being around the house. I have poured over the navy for moms site....my son told me he thinks I know more than his recruiter (mom mission accomplished). It's good to hear from other moms that it gets easier on the other side of BC and A school. I know I will be sad to not see and hear him everyday, but so excited to see the man that the Navy sends back to me. Good luck to you and your daughter
Yes, thank you for your response and may god bless you and your recuit through this process. I, too am studying the websites and plan to be able to speak with convenience when I meet with her recuiter. I like Moms job accomplished!
I'm a spring mom too- my son went last year and it took me by surprise. He graduated school early and then left for boot camp. There is a lot of support here and I couldn't have made it without my PIR ( PIR is boot camp graduation) group who I now talk to almost daily. If you have questions the navyformoms is such a big help.
Thank you for reaching out to me and sharing your experience.
My daughter just shipped out 11/10, it's been 10 days no contact and it can be crazy because we're new to the whole military experience and she is our youngest. I wish I would have known about this site earlier so I could know how this will go. Be sure to let your daughter know to call you if possible with their "I'm here" call regardless of the time. That will be the last time for several weeks you'll hear her voice. Have a plan in case she can't make the call. We didn't get our call and we don't know why, could have been several reasons. Her box came in 3 days but others have been later. The letter is next to come. We have been told 7-10 days, however our letter still hasn't come and we need to know the PIR date to book flights. Best to ask the recruiter questions before she leaves and ask moms on this sight to give you peace of mind. Moms that have gone through it already are a blessing. There is a great organization to be a member of near our area. Check out www.bsmhoustonarea.org, we are meeting next week. They are the ones that told me about this site. Best of luck to your daughter and your family.

@lilnavymom  -  We are in Houston Area as well.  It took almost 3 weeks for us to get the Form letter. Our Son graduated yesterday morning.  Be patient and stay connected. We got our first call and regular letter before the form letter.

@me2anavymom - Time will fly and she will be here before you know it. This site is a lifesaver. Praying for you and your daughter.

Nickyra04, Congratulations, now for the next phase for you.  I actually received a letter yesterday and a call this morning. It was so relieving to hear her voice.

Becky,

My son leaves on Monday for bootcamp and we are also in Spring, TX.  Has your daughter already left?

Take care,

Sherri

Yes, she left on Tuesday. How are you hold up?
