For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 361 and 362
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

I agree it is so nice to have a little information and to get an idea of what to expect! Don't know about you ladies but I had no clue what to expect and was eager for information!

I recieved a call last night I was so excited when I heard my daughters voice. She tells me she has bad news she failed her test n she going to be moved and her graduation date was changed to the following week. I felt so bad. She was so upset. Mixed feeling today on this news :(

The same thing happened to my daughter. That first week I think is devastating for them but it will get better I promise!

My SR, in Div. 362, said in her letter that some of the people in the division were not getting with the program and didn't understand the concept of being quiet, especially after Taps. She said they have had to do IT, intensive training. I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything this week so far if things are better.
My SR said overall boot camp is not bad. It's a matter of listening and doing what they are told when they are told.

Harley I've only talked to my daughter once but she said something about lots of IT. Then she mentioned it again in a letter. She didn't tell me why specifically other than "some stuff" going on and some of the gals not passing inspection. Shes pretty closed lipped when talking about others so I won't know more unless I ask specific questions when/if she calls again. She is in 361.

@JayDee659, Mine didn't mention any names...she simply said "some people". hahaha I can just hear her tone and see her rolling her eyes as she was writing it! Made me smile! Anyway, I am sure things are better. Personally, I have a hard time, as Mom, not getting frustrated if my SR isn't getting to call or is having to do IT because of someone else's actions. But then again, they have to work as a team and unit. So I better just get used to it! I do wish I knew what week they were actually in. I read a few days ago, a journal type post from a past SR. It detailed the types of training and a general idea of what week that training occurs. That would help me know what to write about and pray a little more specifically. I bet your daughter is doing well! This is as exciting for them as it is nerve-racking for us. Thanks for letting me know what she said! I will add her and division to my prayers! :)

Woo Hoo!!! Got to talk to my SR today!!!! Div 362 She sounded so good! She was all excited about passing inspections, got her info for A school--here we come South Carolina!! Tests have gone really well! Said that if they 5-O'd a test, they would get to go to the NEX and get a coke and candy bar!! She and some of the others said that she gave blood so they could listen to music, have juice and a little Debbie zebra cake! She sounds so happy and that makes me happy. She talked for about 15 minutes to me and had talked to my sister before that for about 10-15 minutes. She said that Monday would be their week 4-day 3. They have started weapons training using laser--she said they start live ammunition on Monday. All seems to be going well...YEAH!!!! sure makes it easier on me knowing she is doing well and happy!! GO NAVY!!!

I got to talk to my daughter yesterday, too! I was so happy to hear from her! She, too, made it sound like things were going well! Thank you, Harley, for sharing items your daughter shared. It gives me that much more of a glimpse into their world : )
