Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Not very well! JD left for college 7 years ago so you would think I would be okay with this but it's been awful! At least when he was in college I could get to him within 90 minutes and I could always have some kind of communication with him. I am hoping this ton weight in my heart goes away soon.

Tram, that call in "three weeks" can be before or after that. Don't expect a call, but have your phone charged and available every day between 8 am and 8 pm central time and be pleasantly surprised if you receive a call. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

Tram, yes, you can guestimate the PIR date by counting 9 Fridays after arrival, but PIR could be the week before or after. For your recruit, PIR is most likely 12/04/2015, but could be the week after. Wait on The Form Letter to know the PIR date for sure. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.
Ship/Division--How it Works will indicate that ratings that process differently, but no, most recruits process in as they arrive and based on the division they are placed in.

My daughter leaves for Great Lakes on Tuesday, the 13th. I have had bouts of crying spells, but I am trying to be strong for her. I'm going to miss her.

My son is leaving for Great Lakes on Tuesday as well! We thought it was going to be Wednesday, but they suddenly moved it up a day. Trying so hard not to be Debbie Downer as he is so incredibly excited.

My son is leaving on Tuesday from Vegas. Trying to determine whether we can go with him to report and to the airport to say our goodbyes. Anyone have any info they could share?
