My son is leaving Nov. 10th.  I'm getting nervous, sad yet very proud of him at the same time.

Does anyone know when his PIR will be?  Thanks!

My son is also leaving November 10th.  If you count the weeks, it should be the first Friday in January, but we won't know for sure until we get the letter and call.

My son leaves on November 10th also.  He said that when he was at the recruiter's office last week that someone told him that they were going to try to rush their group through BC so they could graduate before Christmas.  Is this even possible?  It just doesn't seem right to me...although it would be awesome!!

We already know that there is no PIR on 12/18/2015 or 12/25/2015, so the earliest PIR date would be 12/31/2015, which is possible for SOME arriving today or tomorrow, but most arriving this week will have PIR on 01/08/2016. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones)

My son also heard something similar (shortened BC )and we wondered the same. I was not counting it though as I know of others that have been in BC through Christmas in the past.

It would be nice for them to rush them through, but it wouldn't help if they don't let them take leave between then and A school!  My son is also leaving tomorrow, he is at a hotel near MEPS now.  It seems like that would be quite a stretch...they would have to shave two weeks off if the graduation date is really January 8 like we have heard.

No, there is no shortened BC EVER. ALL recruits have 6 weeks of actual training after a minimum of 4 P-days. BC is 7 to 10 weeks. There are some who have 8 Fridays instead of the typical 9 Fridays. This time of year, it is more likely that a recruit will have 10 Fridays than at any other time of year. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect.

By counting 9 Fridays, those arriving this week will most likely have PIR 01/08/2016. Some arriving on the 9th and the 10th could have PIR on 12/31/2015 if they end up in last week's TG and are in a Push Division. Some arriving at the end of the week, Wednesday and/or Thursday, could end up in the 01/15/2016 TG depending on how many recruits shipped this week and how the divisions fill.

No, there is no Leave between PIR and "A" School. That only happens for those in the TG's the week before Christmas and the week of Christmas and there is no PIR those weeks this year.

My son also left on 11/10. I missed Fed Ex today. Is it possible that I am receiving his "box" already?

Yes, 3 to 4 business days after arrival is very common for receiving "the box."  Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

mine left 10th I got sign cause I wasn't home I went to fed x picked up

My son left 11/10, I spoke to his recruiter and recieved his ship and division, AND his PIR is indeed January 8th

My son left 11/10, got "The Box" last Friday. but no form letter yet.  I don't want to call his recruiter for his ship and division because it may not be the correct one & the mail we send him maybe delayed.  How long until they send out the form letter?

I received my son's box on Friday however have not seen the letter yet. I am hoping today or tomorrow to get it. I have several letters to send already.
