I got my form letter from my daughter today.  She arrived at the base on 11/16.  FedEx tried to deliver the box today too.  I was so excited!!!

Ship 12, Div 062 with PIR date of 01/08/16.

My daughter arrived 17 Nov, received her box on 20 Nov, but no letter yet!

Waiting on my letter as well

My son arrived on the 16th got the form letter today.

My son box arrived on 11/17 and I rec'd my form letter 11/20. He left 11/12

Thanks, that's helpful.

My son left on the 16th, too.  I still have not received a form letter.  What's in the letter?  I did get something from the Red Cross, is that the letter everyone is talking about?  PIR 1/8 Ship 06, Div 059.

annemarrie, Your recruit would have sent The Form Letter, not the Red Cross. The Form Letter (clickable link) includes the Ship and Division number and address, so since you have that info, I suspect that you have received it from him.

I left info for you on your My Page.

Thanks a bunch.  I did get the form letter over the weekend.  I was starting to worry because so many others had already received their letter.

My son arrived on Monday the16th. Got his box on Thursday the 19th and his form letter Monday 23rd. We are from Florida and every day I am thinking about the adjustments he is going through -- not only with the training but the weather.  Brrrrrrrrr  After not hearing from him for a whole week when I got his form letter it was like winning the lottery, I hooped and hollered and immediately texted the whole family.  It didn't even matter that there was no personal greeting I knew it was from him him and that he was ok.

Ship 06, Div 590 with PIR date of 01/08/16.

DACB, I'm sure you mean DIV 059. I left info for you on your My Page.

Double checked the form letter and it says 590. Is that an error? I sent a letter today with that Div # hope it will still get to him.
