I am really concerned. I will be going to PIR to see my recruit graduate. However I will be in the chapell. That is one of my concerns. Will i still get to see him right after they are released? Or do I have to immediately go off base ? My other concren is spending time with my recruit for liberty. Are there cabs or taxi's that go to downtown Chicago? Are they pricey? But I am just very worried. I want to see him after graduation. I truly do and it will break my heart if i dont get to see him and spend time. I am coming to Great lakes alone so that is another concern. I guess i will have to put this situation in Gods hands and know that he will work it out as he always do. any advice from people who went?

Not sure the chapel is open for visitors during PIR and that is a large group graduating.

Yes, you will be able to see him if you are able to go to the Chapel. Be sure to get to the RTC early so that you will be able to go there when the time comes IF it is available. Let him know to meet you in the Visitors Center after PIR.

You may want to take the Metra, but you can investigate the taxi fares.

I left info for you on your My Page.

Thank you so much

zhane's recruit is flying out to Pensacola based on her other posts.

Mine is going to Pensacola as well
Use uber instead of a cab! We recently used it all around Chicago and it is great. It is cheaper than a cab!
Do you have a price range for great lakes to downtown chicago with uner?
Thank you. I like uber. I have used it before. But only in Florida
You can take the metra to downtown Chicago, and it is only $7.00, and quite convenient. Metra is the regional train. It seems to run fairly often. Enjoy your time.

Thanks, Lisa!

how does Uber work?

Dropping me off at entrance is fine. I anticipate walking...freezing.
