Yess on vacation, is 12:07 here.  What time there?
Comment by Nancy on June 17, 2011 at 12:06am
Aha! I thought you needed him to come and go. That would be limiting! So it's just to check in. Thanks that's good to know! I will google it right now.
Boy, I can sure tell you are on vacation! It's really late back there. LOL

I don't know if this is what you mean.  He check you in and then that's it.  You can come and go as you want and nobody ask you nothing, also he don't need to be present to check out.  Just need to show his beautiful ID and face in check in.

But what about the fact that you can't come and go without your sailor? Does that make life difficult? I wanted to make reservations in the next week.

Nancy-  don't wait until the last minute to do the hotel reservation, in case a lot of parents decide to go.  I hardly recommend you the Navy Lodge.  You can call and just need the tittle of IB and you don't have to pay now, you pay once you get there (check out) and you can cancel the day before if something happen. Once you get there go pick IB (may be a mile from base) and he can go and check you in.  Google navy lodge in new london.

Rose-absolutely we will keep in touch. I imagine the "sub" world is pretty small and the boys may run into one another. It's amazing the difference between the graduation times for the boys. J was the first one to pass TCNO and then IB was the second!! And they are now a month apart in graduation dates. We are going to go to graduation. Fortunately I teach at a year-round school, and Oct. 7th is right when my vacation starts so we can see IB and take in some eastern Fall colors. SO excited!!

IB didn't have to change that many times, he only moved this one time for A school. I know he is working hard to be in the top group who get to choose their base… they have formed an entire study group. I'm still not entirely sure that this is really MY son we are dealing with. :-)

NDG....You forgot the part of moving every time they change.  LOL After BESS, after TECNO and A school.  Poor of my son!!!

Jeffsmom.......so your son is in my son class.  He class up to A school quick.  He finish TECNO Thursday and start A school Monday.  He also is graduating in September 9.  If I'm not wrong my son told me Sept. 8 and the 9 they are leaving base.  My son accumulate 2 weeks.  He didn't want to take any leave in all this months.  We visit him in March and God first we are going the 4th of July weekend.  We already talk about graduation and we decide that we are not going.  I will like to but if we go now is not easy go back in Sept. plus by then down here in FL we are back to school. Nice to finally meet somebody from J class.

NDG....I still miss you and will keep in touch even if our kids are not together no more.  Even that we didn't have the opportunity to meet in BESS just the fact of knowing your IB and I kiss him and hug him will keep us in contact.  May be I see him again the 4th of July weekend!!
