My son said everyone from PIR 6/3 is classing up next Monday if they didn't already this week.  He is in class 1138 and anxious for phase I to start.  He non-celebrated his 21st birthday during BC and of course still hasn't had an official first drink but I think he is looking forward to wearing something other than a uniform more than having a drink when he gets out of Phase I.  I asked him what his plans for the weekend were and he said Find a good sushi place -- not sure SC will have the kind he is used to in CA but I wished him luck -- any of you ladies heard of one?

Welcome to all the new moms!

FoolMeOnce, there are several discussions on GC visits including this thread.  So jealous you get to visit your baby nuke!  Mine arrived in GC at the end of April and had his 21st birthday a week ago but it's too difficult to schedule time for a visit.  Have a good time!

US Nuclear Sailors serve in one of the most difficult & demanding assignments in the military: safely operating the world's most capable warships. An elite team committed to the principles of unwavering integrity, technical excellence, professional teamwork & continuous improvement, the success of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program requires nothing less from it nuclear operator.
(Naval Nuclear Ethos Statement, Nuclear Power School Graduation Ceremony Program, Naval Nuclear Power Training Command)

Congratulations to the Navy's newest Nuclear Operators. Charleston provided a beautiful day for a ceremony and gathered together in their dress whites, they made quite a show. Godspeed and Good Luck in Prototype.

Bravo Zulu to all you Squids! Especially congrats to my Nukes!

and, congratulations to all you moms, gfs, grandmas, wives and all else: Class 1102 has made it through and all your hard work, prayers, gifts, and heartache brought them home! Hugs to all of you who could not be here today!

Hi everyone, and another hello to FREEBIRD.  My son graduated BC last week and is in GC waiting for his MM A school to start, right after the 4th he says.  His 21st birthday is July 3rd. I feel bad because he is finally legal, but cannot drink due to their school restrictions!!!  He is also missing a family reunion.  :(   My daughter and I are coming to celebrate in GC, and some of you have already made great suggestions for a place to stay.  Any other advice for a first-timer?  Are there any base restrictions for my daughter and I?  Let me know!

We visited our son last month took the lad to Market area in his dress whites on a Friday evening. Maybe it is the many colleges there was an abundance of young ladies charmingly dressed to the nines wearing dresses and makeup not jeans and a tee shirt. Jeez no wonder the chiefs warned the students to stick to their books haha. The home town GF's will need to turn up their game Lol. Maybe I should not have delivered his car to him Mama Mia no wonder some of these guys miss curfew and get denuked.
