N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hello everyone. My son graduated  January 10, 2014 division 14-058. We never received his DVD from graduation. Does anyone have a copy that I can buy from you or have? Thank you very much. My son asked me if I can locate anyone that would have one. Gina

Forever proud-I understand, when I moved here 7 yrs ago, with my husband and 3 of my 5 children I thought I was making a good decision. I was taking my family from a two bedroom run down appt w/ no yard and on a busy road to our own 3bedroom house w/ big backyard on nice street. The only thing was It was 2hrs away from all my friends and family(even my two older children). Fast forward 7yrs, divorced, disabled to where I can't walk half the time let alone drive back and forth to see anyone. i've lost touch w most of those friends and my 2 older children work 2 jobs so they don't visit much. It didnt seem that bad while my son was here but now w/ just me and my 2youngest (10 and 11 yr old) I too am thinking if it might be better for us to move back to be close to my family.
I joined " Molly's Adopt A Sailor" it helps keep me busy and not feeling so lonely, and just a good feeling to be helping our military. Check them out, like here you'll find a lot of great supportive people. HUGGS!

Alice - considering my options. They say that you shouldn't make any major life decisions for a full year after a spouse dies. Well I haven't - and will never - experience that, but I liken this to it. I have no real ties here as all of my family is spread out, so wondering if I should look into selling and moving closer to family. Tough being here alone - but maybe too soon to be thinking like that

Hi everyone, my son classed up yesterday! (he's at GL for ATT School) thank God because he was so bored just waiting for the class to begin. The class is 43 days then I guess it's another wait until he goes to San Diego for his A School. Well at least the the process has started.
Christy- that's great your going to see your son ;) I'm hoping to take a trip out to see my son in San Diego this summer
Forever proud- I know what u mean, even though I can basically talk to him anytime now, there's still an emptiness in our house and in my heart without him here. I wonder if that ever gets better?

Forever proud- Uh huh, yep, forgot them :(  was just too excited about the trip and worried the weather would cancel our flight.  Now finding out that flights are a little. ..a lot pricey to get to Pensacola.  We just want to see him so bad since or visit was So short in GL. REALLY miss that kid!

Christy oh no you did not forget the challenge coins! Missing all my peeps here in ATL. I don't know about you guys, but now that I don't have a date to focus on, I'm sort of lost. my house is entirely to big for a single occupant.

miss everyone too! Son had us send civis last week in order to wear next weekend.  I included his Challenge coins that I FORGOT TO TAKE TO PIR! He loves Florida weather compared to Great Lakes....even tho its chillier than he imagined.  We're going to visit him at end of Feb.

Hi moms.  I haven't been on much since PIR.  My son is in Damneck in IS school.  When he first got there (1/11) they told him he wouldn't start school until 1/24 when they had enough sailors but they went ahead and started a class on 1/13 so he was glad he didn't have to wait.  He loves it so far and it's wonderful to have communication with him.
