Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 081 and 082

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hello, all!  received the form letter and box on the same day - woohoo!

Hi BADSwife, my son is also in Div 081. Have you received any calls or letters yet from your husband? He called his gf when he got to GL, so i have not talked to him yet. I got his box and form letter last monday, tho.
I surely will let you know. My son told his gf that i won't hear from him for the first 2 weeks, so looking forward to Monday!! Don't worry, no news is good news! It will come. I'm sure your husband is as eager to call you, too. I've been writing my son letters everyday so he knows we've been cheering for him even as we yet to hear from him. Be still, i know he's doing this for you!!! Take care!!
Idk abt rates :-)
No phone call or letter either. Let's pray that they had a good christmas away from home. Hope you had a good one" too.

Hi Ladies...just trying to get figure out all this info...wow!  My son is in 082.  He called me this past Saturday and was so great to hear from him.  He said everyone is very homesick but the camaradarie helps him through.  He has just graduated from high school so he has never been away from home for very long.  When he called the caller id came in as "pay phone" so I knew it had to be him!  He was using the calling card his aunt gave him..he said that was very helpful.  I could tell he did not want to hang up the phone...just let me talk and talk until  he was told to end the call.  He said things were not to hard and there wasn't the yelling he expected...LOL.  I was disappointed that I did not get to talk to him on Christmas.  I took lots of photos yesterday which I will develop and send his way.  I try to write him a letter or send a card everyday.  He said the letters are an important link with the world outside.  He likes football so I include the scores and any topics on world events he might be interested in hearing about.

I'm hoping to hear how much time he will have for liberty after graduation on 1/31.  I've booked my plane tickets since fares are going up on UA and AA.  Southwest has not changed so booked it this morning...knowing that I can change it if need be.

I know my son said he wrote a long letter to me when I spoke to him on Saturday...I'm hoping it will be in the mailbox today.  That will be a great Christmas present.

I hope you hear from your loved ones son...It is a great sound to hear their voice on the other end!

Hang in there.....

Goodie!!! Got a letter today, too, woohoo! My son said they didn't get to write until the 22nd which was Sunday.thank God, Christmas came a day late, but that's alright! Enjoy!

My son is in 081 and he called on the 21st.  He was excited, enthusiastic and happy.  So far so good, none of the yelling yet - but they had barely begun the physical training. He thinks he will be able to call on Saturday.  We did not expect a call on Christmas but that does mean that we did run to the phone each time it rang! He has been writing letters since the 8th but not able to mail them yet - we have been mailing him letters every day since the 15th but he had not received any as of then, some SR's were beginning to receive letters though.  Our family is starting to receive his letters, two at a time, which is what he said would happen.  They were all excited to receive their uniforms, and he said they have very warm clothes which is great for the freezing temps in GL.  Hearing his voice has put me at ease. So proud of my son!  Hope all your mom's and wives are hanging in there - 3 weeks down - 4 to go!!!!

I have not received a call from my son, in this ship/division:-(
In his letter dated the 22nd, my son said he had not received any letters from me although i started sending him one everyday since the 16th. I have not received a call from him apart from the "i'm okay" when he arrived at the gl.
I finally got a call.
Got a call, too, woohoo to all of us!!!!
