OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

LAXMOM12 I don't know if this will help or not but you could try. On the receipt from ordering my dvd it says "great lakes photo lab" and the number is 847-578-6205. Maybe they will answer your question.

girl64,

This group will stay open as long as you gals come back to update!  You might see other moms you've met here on the A school groups or eventually the Navy base or ship groups~~

jensue0,

You're welcome!

You know, just find an A school group and you can bond and get advice there too.  When you do a search under the Groups tab, make sure there are posts there from 2014.  There are so many inactive groups left from years past and those groups aren't deleted~~

At some point during the past few weeks, I saw a link to a place where I could get my son's division flag (the unique flag designed specifically by that division)....now I can't find it. Does anyone have any info about this??

I forgot to apologize to a navy sister at the meet and greet. I whined about the country music and I had no idea that it was going to be the song proud to be an American because I don't listen to country. Anyway she was really offended and I'm sorry. It was a mistake and that is an awesome song
