My son Daniel is with the USS La Jolla . They helped him thru the process. Good Luck to your son. Course Hawaii is beautiful.

Hi Charla... Thanks for replying. What did Daniel do about getting housing? My son wants to find someone he can room with, so that his housing expenses will be less. Do you have any ideas about how to find someone?

My son got his orders yesterday. He will serve on the La Jolla.

Hi Snj1959.... I was just wondering if your son made it to Hawaii yet and if he is underway with the crew. I hope everything is going well for you and your son.

Jackie,

Sorry I have not answered sooner.  My son made it to Hawaii the first part of December.  He left today to go meet with the sub.  He was very excited, of course everything was hush hush and he could not tell us where, what or when.

Hi Jackie, Just wanted to let you know that my son has your son under his 'wing'! They were at school together and my son has been excited to know that your son would be joining the boat. My son is almost done with quals and has promised to help y

snj1959,

I know you are excited about your son's new adventure. The crew of the LaJolla is a group of great guys. Have you recieved any information from the ombudsmen? If you have a fecebook account, you can become a member of the La Jolla FRG facebook account. It helps to keep in touch with others going through this "journey" so email me at sra.timmons.gmail.com anytime.

I kept asking my son about the ombusmen but he never gave me the information.  He did just call, borrowed a phone from someone, he made it to where ever the sub is and he has time off to go sightseeing.  Thank you for the facebook page I have requested to be a member.  My email address is: snj1959@sbcglobal.net.

Hi Ladies, My son is on the La Jolla as well. Anyone traveling out to HA in January?

Aloha LeahScottsdale, and I am so happy that I finally see some families of La Jolla crews! :)

Are you planning to come to HI?

Sorry I have not replied sooner..Yes I will be going out there to see the boat come home and to spend some quality time with my son. Do you live there in HI? Can't wait to see HI for my first time and to see the boat that consumes my sons life.

Oh, no need to apologize! :) Yes I'm in HI and I'm really happy for you to come over here for your first time. Because of some reasons, I'm not sure I'll be at the base when their boat is homecoming, but if I'm lucky enough, I'll be there too. But anyway, I wish you have a precious time in Hawaii with your boy!  ;)
