Hi Pat, my son`s PIR is 06/04. I am not sure if we are going to be able to make it for the meet and greet because my husband and I both have to work and are unsure about getting both Thursday and Friday off of work.  I am very interested in the adopt a sailor program, I am also in the Ilinois group with you, I am still trying to get used to using the site, it has a lot of useful information on it.

Thank you for the warm welcome, it has been a very hard couple of weeks for me, but I know that my son made the right decision for himself.  It has been hard letting him go, he`s my baby, even though he will be turning 19 in May.

Thanks Pat, My husband & I are at Pearl Harbor right now visiting our son for the week. Still trying to adjust to jet lag, from NY. Was up at 4am this morning at the hotel , so wanted to check my e-mails, before they pile up & saw that my other son in Dijoubi, had sent some pix of himself wth other marines from his platoon, so that was a nice surprise. Thanks for that web site, I will definitely check it out.
