Can't attend PIR because of situps

Now what will happen? Got the call Monday night and had to cancel all our plans. Anyone have info for me? Will he get another PIR?

Once they miss their own PIR because of test failure, they don't get another PIR, sadly.  Your SR would stay in FIT and keep trying (10-12 more chances, testing every 48 hrs except for weekends).  Once they pass, they do BattleStations, have a short Liberty and head straight to A School after that.  I'm so sorry you had to cancel your plans....you won't get much of a heads up when he passes in FIT so it may be hard to get there for the short Liberty he may have when he passes, but never say never!  Prayers that he gets it done!

I will light my "Blue" candle to send good vibes to your son.  Don't worry (yeah right, we are mothers) he will pass.  He will dig deep and do what is necessary to pass!  Godspeed

Battle Stations-21 (BST) has information for you.

Important thing to remember: FIT has a success rate of over 90%. The Navy has too much invested in your son to let him fail.

Iam not positive about this but at one time I was told if they don't pass by tge PIR date they will not attend a PIR they will go straight to A school after they pass their PFA.

Tabitha, the recruit must  also pass BST not just the PFA, before heading to "A" School or training. You are correct though that if the recruit has not become a Sailor before the scheduled PIR date, then once eligible the Sailor will not have PIR, but will go straight to "A" School or training as soon as transport can be arranged after passing BST, usually with the next group of graduating Sailors. See Battle Stations-21 (BST).
