Our son left on 9/22 also. We received his box yesterday. It made it more real that he was gone. Praying for strength and endurance for each of them.

Yes it's becoming more real as each day passes @Liary. I pray that God watches over our children guides them and gives them the strength that the will need as the are away from home, some like my daughter this is her first time away.

@Ana'sMom2015 I have been researching since the day my son left. I was told by a navy mom that usually within 1 week after they ship the "black box". I was told to write as many letters as possible this way you can send them in a big envelope so they don't get homesick. THESE sites have really eased my emotions a great deal. We are from Northern California. Originally from bay area but then moved to Modesto (VALLEY AREA). I pray everyday for all navy moms boot camp or active deployment also for all family members. I now see how hard it is letting go. I can't sleep nor eat bc I'm so worried. Do you feel this way?

Thank you for that information @NavyMom1108.I have started writing to my daughter so as soon as i get her mailing address i will send them to her all at once. Its was so very hard to let go. She is the oldest of five my first born I know she has a good head on her shoulders she has always been determined and a smart girl. That kinda makes things a little easier knowing that she is making great choices in her life. But I am emotional at times just knowing that she is so far from home. I miss her so much.

My son left 9/22 also... It's so hard to not be able to talk to them. I found the one call I got that night, was so hard.... he already sounded very different... scared me in a way.... We are from Boise area and there were several that left from here. I haven't gotten anything yet.
