I have so many questions, but try not to ask just because I feel they are silly, but this is something I must try to find out. We got a letter from our son and he is so upset, depressed, and discusted with him self. He stated he has been real ill for the past week and a half and tried real hard not to go to medical so that he did not get set back in training but it got so bad he had no choice, he stated that the doctor did not like the way his lunges sounded and that they were going to run some test and that he could get medically discharged, he is so worried that this is making him sick! He had his test done this past Monday, now my question to anyone that could help is would we know by now if he was getting sent home or if his graduation date has been setback? We also are worried that he is not getting our letters because not once has he stated he has. We just started getting letters from him lastweek and got two today but still not one phone call besides the I am here call. Any in site would be great! Thank you

When a recruit is ASMO'd (moved to another division, the RCU, or SEPS), then the recruit calls a loved one and lets them know that there has been a change. Since your recruit has not called you, then everything is on track for him to have PIR as scheduled. "No news is good news!" If you have gotten more than one letter from him, then he is getting letters from you.

You are very welcome.

I agree, no news is good.  But it is important he went to medical, his health comes first. Can't be too careful when it comes to lungs and illness in a group setting, in winter.

Thank you , that is what I said to him in the letter, I told him I wish he would not have waited so long. My other question is would he have been able to call me by now, the letter he wrote was dated 12-27-14 or is there a waiting period before he can let us know, also I am just now sending him a calling card because I thought he got one issued and or was able to buy one there. So now I am worried he has not called us with no changes because he has no card

I know it is hard not to worry, but like others have said, no news is good news.  If there was a problem and your son was not going to graduate as scheduled, he would call you.  So just take it as a sign that he is okay.  My son was on light duty/restriction during part of his boot camp, as long as he is able to pass the required tests, he should be okay.  Remember, if he does not call, he is still on track.
