Anna - I woke up a little after midnight, threw on my robe and trotted out front. The eclipse was well under way. Awesome. Great Lakes did get some snow but not much. And just when my daughter was happy to be rid of her parka. GL teaches our sailors to expect anything!

Anna,

We will see if the garden survives---had to cover it again this evening! UGH! Rachael is doing well....still hates the commute but it is what it is---and I do get a phone call every morning at 6:30 am while she's killing time before class LOL Yes, she will be going through the summer--only way to keep those benefits coming ;-) it will keep her busy while Dustin's underway, so that's a good thing!  How is Jenn doing? Chris adjusting to being home? Bet you can't wait to get your arms around him!!!

Catsmom,

Glad you made it safely even tho' a little late!!!  I hope you did get some good sleep at least!!  I hope your weather stays just rain.  We also had snow yesterday and last night.  24 this morning and reports of over 30 accidents on the highways this morning.  I guess they didn't really plan for ice on the roads.  How long do folks need to live in Wisconsin before they learn wet + freezing temps = ice on roads!!!

Andrea,

Hope your garden survives!!  How's Rachael doing??  Still liking school??  Handling that commute ok?? Will she go to school this summer?  Catherine keeps her full time student load all summer.

Jean,

I don't think I will ever complain about a northern summer being too warm.  If we ever do warm up I will be most appreciative!!!!

Linda,

School nurse - that is awesome.  I worked in a school where they eliminated nurses in the middle and high schools.  Secretaries were tasked with the duties of being nurse - dispensing meds, treating wounds and emergencies.  I HATED it.  I always said - I so admire the school nurse's responsibilities - and I'm not it!!!!!!  Although I did get a "job well done" from an ER doctor for saving the fingers of a young girl who sliced all 4 fingers on a piece of equipment.

How much snow did Great Lakes get??

Did anyone witness the eclipse last night?

Good Morning to Everyone.

Blondie, sorry that old man winter won't let go. We were in the 70's yesterday and today we are back to our old wet and cold low 50's. I guess that is why they call this Spring. Hang in there soon it will be Summer and be to warm. LOL.

Catsmom,

Two things you're not use to...rain and cold LOL a nice change I'm sure ;-) We actually had to cover our garden---freeze warning this morning---crazy! Glad you finally got to your room---any sleep yet?! LOL Hope the rest of your jouney goes well...continued safe travels...

Anna,
I am a school nurse for a PS - 6th grade school. Lots going on there. My daughter is at Great Lakes in A school for Machinists Mate. She said it just started snowing!

Catmom,
What is SIL? Have fun with your daughter.

Eclipse!! Not yet in AZ. Hope there are pics on the news mañana.

Jean,

Well that could be good news!!!  Looks like you're starting to feel comfortable there?  Is it out of the ordinary to have to ask for work or is that the way it is structured.  Maybe they don't mind you asking it may just seem like it for you.  Especially if you're not used to that way of doing things.  I just hope it works out for you in the end - - that's the important part!!!!!!

Comment by Oneofalot on April 14, 2014 at 2:29pm

Anna, no. They made the contract open ended. Which means until there are not busy, were there. Yuck!!!!. I am sort of getting use to it. That could be a bad thing. I just don't like to nag people for things. Thanks for asking.

Linda,

Glad you made it to the end of the week!!!  Hope all the testing is done?  What grades do you work with?  I'm a former high school secretary!!  Fun times!!!  Is your daughter in A school now?

Catsmom,

I am so excited for you!!  Have safe travels as you go over to collect you SIL, and then as you all head to Norfolk!!!!  I feel the same way about all my Navy Sisters!!!!  Many times I would lost what little sanity I have left if it weren't for these wonderful ladies here!!!!!  If you need an excuse for an extra hug - give your girl one for me and tell her I'm so happy she is back!!  Hope she gets to stay for awhile!!!

Spyder,

How was your visit with your girl??

Andrea,

Anything exciting in your neck of the woods?

Jean,

Is this your last week at the job?
