I had the great pleasure of having a visit from my son Anthony below due to the unfortunate passing of my brother in law. So sad it takes a bad to turn into a good for us mothers. He was with me for 8 days. So short but so happy to have him for even a little while :)   Dropped him off at the airport this morning and of course started weeping when I had to say good bye :(  He told us in Sept. or Oct he is going to San Diego Cal. and will be on a ship. That is exciting news for us.  I am happy he is staying in for another 5 years!

Linda...sometimes it takes a few minutes.....due to censorship and security protocol. .....or maybe Navymom has filtered her in-coming comments, so she reviews them first...or something?

Navymom2013, just wrote you a quick note on your page, don't know if you'll get it or not, didn't see it posted on your page  after I wrote it.  Still  kind of trying to figure out how to write & receive comments on various posts where I want it to get to!

Hey Linda Girl - That is so very good to know.  They are going to be shipmates - you can call me this evening until 11 pm or tomorrow after 7 am and I will let you know more info so they can find each other. Friend me and I will give you my phone and email so we can talk.  It is hard to do anything on here.

Hi Navymom2013, my son has been at Pearl since Dec. on the SSN Texas. He wasn't sure about taking his car over either, so decided against it, but regretted the decision once he was over there. The Military shipped his car over to him in Feb of this year, from NJ, & all we had to do was drive it to Edison, New Jersey for him, right over the GW Bridge, & the military handled it from there. it took about 6 weeks for him to get his car.

Hi Linda Girl - He is finishing up at Groton, Ct and will graduate 5/29 then he is coming home for a while and on to Pearl Harbor

He is really looking forward to it but Mom gets to sell all the stuff he can't take with him.  We have been tossing taking his car with him -  back and forth.  If he takes it he has to drive it to California so they can ship it to Hawaii but the cars in Hawaii are three times as expensive as here.  He doesn't think he is going to need one but my thought is - take it and if you want to sell it later, you can.  I'll bet the guys in Hawaii are looking for a good Honda Civic.  He is trying to decide.

Where is your son right now? I remember in November you said he was going to be on the same boat as mine is going on.  Is he just waiting?
