This is pretty cool - hopefully you can take a few (6) minutes to watch it.  Tallest flagpole project in North America.

Been quiet here lately - how's everyone doing?

Juliebelle - how was Norfolk - would love to see pics of family day.  How is your marine son settling in now that he is out?

We did our road trip a week ago - just hubby, college son and I. We took a "Flat Stanley" of our sailor with us and took all sorts of fun pics - had a real good time.  Went to the Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, NM, Roswell, Tombstone - it was HOT but fun!

Haven't been on for awhile...here is the latest update of  our grandson...currently deployed on the USS VellaGulf...having completed exercises somewhere in the Black Sea...not much contact...sure is different from having him at Point Loma...hope you see you all soon and hear how your sons and daughters are doing...

Juliebelle28....our Grandson just arrived last night to Norfolk..Enjoy your family weekend...one leaves and another arrives...He said he was totally lost on base...we figured he is probably wondering around..so if you see a lost sailor he probably is ours...Take care and enjoy your trip...

Hi everyone - been kind of quiet here lately.

Juliebelle - your marine son is out now as of this week, right?  How is he doing? I know you were doing your family day on the Truman this month.  Has that happened yet or are you there now?

Hope all is well with everyone!

Happy Thursday!

Never forget the brave souls who gave their lives to ensure our freedom by bravely fighting on the beaches of Normandy.

Quick question juliebelle - when your son finished prototype did he STAR re-enlist?  We've been talking about it in the nuke group and also on the Navy Dads site.  Trying to figure out the pros/cons....

Hope everyone is having a good day - Happy Friday!  Got my red on!

How special juliebelle to have both your boys together!  Sounds like they had a good time....I sure hope it works out that all of you can go to family day on the Truman!  Fingers crossed ;-)
