Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Armywifenavymom: We received the password in the 1st form letter we received from our SR within the first week or so. Our SR never told us over the phone or in a hand written letter. Check your form letter again.

I'm a bit worried about the parking pass because my recruit has not provided the password to me or his father. Hopefully I can ask if he has a chance to call. Had anyone in DIV 939 received the "call"? My phone is attached to my hip. Thanks, have a great weekend.

Good advice from lemonelephant. Please remember that you do not need the Gate Pass if taking a shuttle to PIR or parking off base at the train station. But it is better to have it and not use it then to want it and not have it....so best to try and get it printed if you can!

I don't usually join the PIR groups, but I have had at least 7 people from this PIR group ask me about printing the vehicle/gate pass and 3 of them came back saying that their recruits gave them the wrong password. I usually have one request for help with the vehicle/gate pass every few months, so this has me concerned enough to join and leave a comment for all of you. I will now leave the group and if you have questions or comments for me, you can leave a comment for me on my My Page.

For those of you who are having trouble printing the gate pass for next week's PIR. Be sure that you entered the password in all capital letters. Try switching to a different browser (Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer works better for some) or to a different computer. You may need to download a newer version of Adobe Reader. If those don't work, check the tips in http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/troubleshoot.asp. If you are still unable to get it to print call the PAO at 847-688-2405 during regular business hours and give them the password you have and they will help you. There have been several in next week's TG who had the wrong password. I am beginning to believe that it was not the recruits who erred when writing down the password, but the person who gave them the password to write down. Of course I cannot prove that, but I have had more questions than usual on printing the vehicle/gate pass and several who have come back to me saying that their recruit gave them the wrong password.

Congrats to the new sailors of 241/242! Also to 239/240 who should have gone last night as well! The next I'm a Sailor calls won't be until Tues afternoon....they don't do BattleStations Fri or Sat nights, and lately not Sun nights either.
