For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We spoke with our sailor yesterday - he's on days this rotation - just plugging away on getting check outs....no new news.....

britefuture - good luck to your sailor on his 50% exam. It sure goes by fast, right? Mine took his in July....but still no info on a projected completion date.....hurry up & wait!

We had an AMAZING weekend with our brand new Sailor. We took the train into Chicago and took in some of the sites with our son and then met him at the airport at o'dark thirty on Saturday morning. It was tough to say "See Ya Later" again after just getting to see him again, but it was a tiny bit easier this time than it was when he left for BC. He is LOVIN' being in GC already and made the typical stop at Best Buy on the same day he arrived to pick up a tablet that he had been wanting to buy for some time. The heat and humidity is a bit difficult for him to adjust to, but I'm sure he'll get used to it eventually. His roommate just graduated A-school and is starting leave so he's had the room to himself most of the weekend. INDOC starts today. Looking forward to hearing from him about his next steps.

Comment by kfguay on September 2, 2014 at 8:57am: Had to share the exciting news! My son texted me late last night, he just passed his oral boards and is now a qualified nuclear operator! I am so proud of him as this week marks a year since he's been in BS. With all the delays they have all had to endure, he never complained or gave up! So very proud of him, 2 1/2 years this journey has been! Now awaiting his orders, hopefully he gets his first choices, wants to go Fast Attack Subs. So very happy and proud of him!
