LIndaGirl, thanks for the info!!!  I had heard that there is someone who does birthday cakes/cookies in Honolulu, kind of like the nice lady Kristen in Groton.  I have a friend whose son is stationed in Japan so I sent her the website so maybe she can send him a cake for his birthday.  I have no idea if my son will be in port for his birthday but I will sure try to get something to him before or after!

Came across an articule in one of my husband's military magazines, called, USO PACIFIC OPERATION BIRTHDAY CAKE. Go on Google or any search engine, & it will bring up this particular USO site, that will make various cakes, cookies & brownies, for any occasion and will come with a gift card, & be beautifully boxed, & wil be sent to any military personal in the Pacific. Prices aren't bad & the selection of cakes, cookies, or other bakery items are varied and numerous.

So, my husband and I were watching Jeopardy yesterday (Fri night) and the category was Military. The question was In 2014 what ban did the Navy lift. We both shouted out What is women on subs. We were correct. The contestants did not know the answer.  We felt very proud of ourselves for knowing the answer.

LadyRocker, hapy b'day to your son.  Enjoy your day with him.

NanaDonna, way to go for your grandson! Again, always nice to hear that the Navy gives out recognition.

Congrats to your son William and how nice to be given those "free" days off enjoy your visit.

I also need to brag a bit. LOL.  My grandson got an award letter yesterday from a Rear Admiral for his outstanding performance during his last underway.  We are so proud of him.  Plus to top it off he will be home next week for a visit :)

Awesome news William. Was your Sailor on the USS Annapolis? My Sailor is in Groton and posted welcome home USS Annapolis on his fb page. Wondering if that is the ship he was on. My sailor got to see it come in. God Bless you and your Sailor. Enjoy your time together. I am getting to see my Sailor in about half an hour. He came home early this morning for today is his 20th Birthday.

Blessing to all
