Hello everyone!

I am waiting for my first homecoming!!! I would love to know what to expect. Any tips would help. I will be traveling from Florida, so I'm sure warm clothes are a must!

Peter's Mom-I would suggest you send him another message and let him know that if HE did not put you on the base access list, then you are not on it.

dlgnnp-  it's not the 13th...

I asked spheather when she was arriving in Norfolk. That was her reply to my question

Thanks. I was in a panic. My biggest fear is that the boat will arrive, and my daughter will not have anyone there to greet her. I know it probably sounds silly. She is a big girl now. Well, as far as age goes. She is only 4'9"..Lol.. My family will be arriving on the 14th.

Our frist deployment too! I can't wait to touch my son!!!!! :D

Unfortunately, our flight does not get in until 9:30 am the morning of homecoming. Our DIL is grabbing us at the airport and we are heading straight to the base.

Do you have a homecoming date yet? Do the ships usually arrive at a certain time of the day?

Not wanting to put the date on here but it is real close to the 14th. Im not on the FRG list, but if you can get your sailor to put you on it it helps I've been told. I have also been told not to SPECT him off the ship till afternoon. This is all new to me I just know I'm going to be there waiting!

I am on the list, but am very glad it will probably be in the afternoon. I am not a morning person.

it's going to be such a wonderful day!

Hi! My Son is coming home also. I have very little information. Fortunately I have a friend of his trying to help me. This is my first! Not sure where to go to on the base but they will tell me right? Will there be some place for us to hang out while we r waiting? I want to be there well before noon.

My son's first deployment, as well, and I have all the same questions as everyone before me! We are driving from Maine and I have started packing. Question - can you bring folded camping chairs on base to sit on while waiting for the ship? My husband has a bad back and can't stand for long periods. I did email my son about adding my email to FRG a few weeks ago, but communication with him has been spotty and I haven't heard anything from them. My son did say he added our names to the list, though. :)
