Hmmmm, not recommended to do that, Jeannine.  Anything that is not a regular letter will be looked at by the RDCs.  If you want, you can write and ask your SR if he wants you to mail it, and he can check it out with the RDCs.  But normally, they don't want them to have things like that.  You CAN scan piks, etc on the back of your letters or on a separate sheet and send things to him that way.  They have very little storage space, so sending actual photos takes up lots of space and would cause them to have to open letters in front of the RDCs---something they don't want to do.  Remember, your SRs do NOT want to have unwanted attention from their RDCs!  They like to "fly under the radar."

Diannep thank you for your reply. Now I have another question. Can I send a catalog along with my letter to my son? He likes soccer and playing xbox so I was wondering if I could send him a soccer catalog or magazine?

Your division discussions will be set up for you sometime in the next ten days or so. We need to be able to confirm divisions either through the RTC or the next TG groups form letters arriving.

Jeannine:  He won't know for sure when he flies out until right before PIR when his flights are booked.  Doubtful he will fly out on New Years Day since it is a federal holiday, but never say never in the Navy!  If I were you, I would plan to stay until Saturday if possible.  He most likely will fly out on Friday and you can spend time with him at the airport.  If he happens to leave early, you can always sightsee!  That is what we did when our sailor flew out early!

Trying to get my travel arrangements in order. My son is to graduate 12/31. He is then to fly out to Flordia for A school, so my question is when will he leave for Florida on 1/1/15 or since this is a holiday will he fly out on 1/2/15? I'm anxious to get everything in order but since I dont know when he is to fly out not sure what to do?
