I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

Kielovestez: I would suggest staying busy girl. start planning your outfits, things y'all can do, what you will wear for him ;)
Go on Pinterest and start planning girl it makes it so much special when you see him. They are always busy and my husband called me three times and sent me short letters because he was focused on doing well in basic. I'm proud of him and it was a sacrifice but we did it girl.

My husband and I decided that once I adopt him on Christmas instead of coming back to TN I will stay there for the duration of his BC which he is expected to graduate 1/9/15, and his A-School which on his papers say it's nine weeks. I haven't talked to my husband since Dec 5. He usually calls me once a week. I'm scared, worried, and extremely sad. My birthday is on the 22nd and I know he won;t be able to call just because it's my birthday, but I at least want to hear from him before Christmas. The time is moving by so slow and I'm cried all out. I usually get his letters on Thursday and time is just at a stand still. Can I get some advice?

Emirose, it's always hard on those special days! You feel like you're finally getting into a routine and then BAM some special event or memory comes up and you have one of those bad days. It's okay to have those bad days. Just know he is missing you and thinking of you just as much!

My husband and I have been together for 8.5 years and we have never been apart for longer than a week. While he was in bootcamp he missed our sons 2nd birthday, and since he's been at a school he we didnt get to celebrate thanksgiving, our 1 year wedding anniversary, and my 25th birthday together, but you learn a new "normal" and FaceTime becomes apart of it. Being apart doesn't get easier, you just learn how to deal with it better over time.

You learn a different timing of celebration in the Navy, you learn to celebrate whenever you are together.   It is a type of freedom, not being chained to a calendar.  Reunions become sweeter, and you never take special days for granted.

But yes, it is a tough way to live, and a hard skill to acquire.  I am sorry you had to be alone on a day which is special for you two.

Had a really rough day today. My boyfriend whos the love of my life is still in bootcamp for another 25 days or so and of course couldnt be with me/call me today, our 1 year anniversary. I missed him extra today and everyone keeps telling me to get over it. All day I couldnt help but keep thinking about how much I miss him and how much I wish we were together to celebrate. And together in general.

Hey there. I have a question for wives or fiances, specifically anyone who has gotten married during liberty weekend. My fiancé and I plan to get married during his liberty weekend in January, and he graduates on jan 9, which of course is a Friday. He's gotten permission to get married, and I'm trying to coordinate how To go about getting a marriage license and all, but it's difficult due to the fact that the license wouldn't be valid till the next day (Saturday) and I'm not even sure if the Lake County Courthouse is open on Fridays. Does anyone have an advice to give? Or anyone that's gotten married on liberty weekend and can tell me how to go about this? Please! Thanks!

Vianca- Depends on how far you live from his base. If "home" is within the liberty radius, usually 250-350 miles but depends on the command, then he would be able to come home on his days off work such as weekends and holidays that he doesn't have duty. But if he lives farther from base than the liberty radius, then he cannot travel without taking leave and using his days.

My boyfriend is on base he doesnt deploy until 2016, he wants to come home for the holidays but he doesnt want to use his leave days he has saved up because he wants to save it for feburary when i give birth. so what im asing can he come home without using his leave days sinvce he wont be doing anything for a while?
