My email shows that I have commented here, but I don't see my comments here. Do YOU ladies see my comment from yesterday?
Happy New Year everyone! Can't make it on Sat. - I now have a meeting that doesn't get out till after 10:00 and then the 2 1/2 drive. I hear us west side of the state siders are supposed to get freezing rain and more of this white crap that is currently falling out of sky along with darn cold temps. We finally heard from our Sailor last night. It was so good to hear his voice. Now my Christmas is complete.
Lorraine, Katie was home in January for pre-deployment leave. We all were there for her homecoming Nov 15th.
Lorraine, my son is on a boomer--USS Nevada, blue crew.
Merry Christmas everyone. My son was able to come home this Christmas so it has been nice having him here. He got back from his underway after Thanksgiving and wasn't even sure if he would be able to take leave. He did tell me that there are 5 guys on his sub from MI. We live in Sterling Heights and one of the guys lives in Warren. If you weren't able to see your sailors or other family members I hope you were at least able to talk on the phone.
Happy New and Safe Year for 2015.
Merry Christmas to all. We went to church with Joe & Thomas on Christmas Eve and went to my youngest brother's home to be with my Mom on Christmas Day. Dave (Delta mechanic) had to work over Christmas. Alicia comes down from the UP on Sunday and Katie arrives Monday!
Blessed New Year to all!
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope yours was happy. Good to hear from you Ruth. We had a quiet Christmas too. It's the first one alone since 1990. We did talk to our daughter on Christmas and she opened up her presents over the phone. We didn't get to hear from our Sailor. Maybe over the weekend. My computer isn't working very well, so I haven't been on as much. This is the quietest I've seen us be in years! Hopefully we can get a meet & greet together soon-weather depending.
We've been a quiet bunch and it's almost Christmas. I hope everyone hears from their sailor. Our sailor is home until just after Christmas. His wife came home a month before him for a long visit, then had car trouble so is "stuck" here, 8 months pregnant as she shouldn't be flying at this point. It really is working out for the best. All their friends in Maine have received orders so her support group back there would be very limited. Now she'll get to stay with her folks here in Michigan and has been working on the details of transferring her pre-natal records here. Please pray all goes well as this is rather late in the game for switching to a different doctor. I'll let you know when baby girl arrives. The due date is January 23rd. Our whole family will be together Christmas Day. Merry Christmas everyone.
Good to hear from you, Ruth. Your son has had quite a journey and must be adjusting well to an instant family. So sorry about the trouble between your daughter and other DIL. I hope you hear from your son. Do they ever Skype?
