Back from weekend visiting sailor.  Baby is adorable.

AntiM,his "?captain?" is a 1st class NC.  NC rate has a 100% advancement to 1st class.  I would not have asked that question without your advice.

He is in a very anti military area. Weird.  We looked for events in his area.  Nothing. We should have gone over to West Point.

He is now guaranteed to retire navy and is working really hard at a commission program.

He wants to be posted in Japan again and have his son attend school in Japan.  He feels it is a better education.   Breaks my heart, but I see the logic.

Students in Japan compete for high school placement.  All  high schools cost money and the better schools cost more.  You can fail out or denied high school.

Birdiejr - My heart goes out to you and your family. That is so sad.  Will be keeping you all in my prayers.  Glad your son was able to give you good news...congrats to him!

Joshmom - I'm sure he isn't too bummed bc some rates are harder to get into. My sailor had tried a number of times and FINALLY advanced this time.

He shared the news w us bc we suffered a tragedy yesterday and lost our nephew, a decorated veteran from Afghanistan, 3 purple hearts and bronze star recipient. We are devastated. He hoped it would be the good news we needed and it was. Please keep us in your prayers and warm thoughts.

Vicky, Your son will love it there. Mine signed on for extra time there.

Kim, Congrats to your son on his promotion!! I know you are proud.

Blondie - Praying for you and thanks for the encouraging words on my headaches. I am doing ok (although struggling with our current situation).

My love and prayers to you all and for all your sailors!!
