For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Comment by NavyMom916 on May 23, 2015 at 3:52pm: Thanks so much for the heads up about the possible phone call. Had our phones out and we got the call! Was so good to hear how things are going for our son. DIV 226. Hope everyone gets to hear from their loved one.

Comment by diannep on May 23, 2015 at 2:18pm: Well, I don't have any more info on this than anyone else does....just figuring they would not be flying on a federal holiday and Sunday flights may be very hard to get with many people possibly returning from celebrating July 4th weekend. Sadly, your SRs will not know what day they are flying back until way after you will need to have your flights in order. Best to book your own flights back no earlier than Fri evening, and try to stay longer if you can...just in case.

Also, a reminder that there is a Six Flags park nearby and being a holiday weekend, even though the holiday is on a Sat., it may be exceptionally crowded....so book your hotels now! They will fill up!

It sound like you were expecting him in the next PIR on the 10th? Seeing he is in the last division of this group I am guessing he was the last of a few needed to close out that division. Very possible others on the bus with him are in the next PIR. It happens. :)

They generally all head for A School after PIR, but this group might be a little different because of the holiday. I am guessing they will leave on the third, but I am not sure on this one yet. Perhaps diannep knows.

Those staying in GL for A School will be moving over there shortly after PIR is over on the 2nd. Families pick them up over there about mid-afternoon (takes several hours for this check in process).

And, yes, if he is in Div 230, the PIR date is 7/2!

I thought it was a mistake him saying he's graduating on July 2& I just wanted to make sure the date was correct. Does this mean they'll be going to A school on the 3rd?
