Cool our sons will be on the same ship for a little while. Mine had the option to transfer to the RR and go back to Japan or stay with the GW. He wanted to stay so he could make that trip around and see new countries. He's looking forward to it. They'll become mossbacks!

Yup, he's bring the GW around the cape.... Part of the RR crew that is doing that...then flying back to their home base... It's in the article too...:))

BeachBunny - a vacation with sailor included...just don't get any better than that!  Glad you all got together and had a great time.   So is your son part of the Three President's Crew?  and you stated your son is hopping on the carrier going in for refuel....that's the ship my son is on - the GW.

Thanks for the article, BeachBunny. I have only gotten A little bit of information from my sailor about this.

Good day group...

hummm..one hops off, another hops on.....my sailor just got back from a 10 month with TAD orders with another squadron in the Gulf, onto the RR for detachment...then hopping back on to another carrier to bring it in for refueling.....I tease him, that he gets around...:))

We did just came back from a "beach" vacation and my sailor did get his POM leave and international travel approved to join us...it was a blast...made up for not seeing him for 10 months and at the holidays...:))...he's hoping they be back in time for the holidays this year....we'll see, staying Navy flexible...lol

This is a great article on the hull swap:http://www.navytimes.com/story/military/tech/2015/07/12/tr-reagan-w...

Hello Moms!  Good to hear joshmom.  That is so weird to re-live the same day again!  Glad he's getting closer to USA!!

I haven't been on here in a little while and thought I'd stop in to say hello.  Hope you and your sailors are doing well.  I got an email from mine the other day and he stated they had crossed the international date line - we're now on the same day!!!!  Funny they had to relive the 30th lol  I've been so use to him being 15 hours ahead of me and now he's behind me in time.  It sure does feel good knowing he's getting closer to the USA!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
