Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

LOL Curlyq I write to my SR everyday and the letters get shorter and shorter but I always let him know how proud I am of him.  Josh Mom 2015 I am glad you got a letter ^^

Too funny Curlyq. I know I keep asking the same things over and over. I'm pretty sure he is going to figure out really quickly just how proud I am of him. Lol

Mine said she wrote a letter on Sunday to.  Still nothing, hoping for tomorrow.  I told her I would write everyday.  But I am starting to run out of things to say.  lol

I got a letter (still no form letter) from him. It was very short but he seems okay. It was wonderful to see his hand writing. Hopefully he will fill out my questionnaire this weekend so I can pry a little information out of him. Hooyah!

Ninja:  Other recommended hotels from ladies before you on the PIR groups are:

Courtyard, Residence Inn, Springhill Suites, Holiday Inn Express....these are 4-5 miles from RTC (10 min drive).  Call them directly and ask for the Navy Graduation discount.  They are all close together....Springhill is right next to the place where Sarge holds his MeetandGreet for you all the night before PIR.  All good hotels.  We stayed at Residence and liked it.  Great for larger groups since they have 2 bdrm 2 bth units, full kitchens, sleeper sofa in living room.  They have smaller units as well, I believe.  A friend of mine stayed at Courtyard, said it was good.  CatMom stayed at Holiday Inn Express...said that was good too.  We have had good comments on Springhill as well.  Check any hotel you are interested in on:

www.TripAdvisor.com

Most of the reviews are from Navy families.

I just looked at the count down.  Can you believe only 35 more days?  I can hardly wait.

Thanks ladies.  I'm worried that Josh didn't update his Navy paperwork with his new address.  We moved just before he shipped out.  Our mail is being forwarded but I will write him to make sure.
