Yes they will be making a few stops along the way but the last leg is finally here and I've been waiting for this for almost 3 years now! My boy is coming home stateside!! I'm gonna be a total wreck once they get to the other side!!! Just had to let my feelings out.....thanks for listening!

Got a long phone from my sailor asking about things to see and do there, since he is in one of my favorite places....not much for the squadron to do until the birds get on the ship..:)

Aliyah....you're planning ahead... Lol...homecomings I've been to, sailors put your name on the list for getting onto base...still have to show ID...I'd advise, wait and see...

Alyce, My sailor was the new guy on deck twice. He joined the GW In June.He went from pensacola to Norfolk for 3 days and they flew him to the ship. He went thru the hull swap in SD. He stayed on the GW but everyone in his shop was new to him and the ship, he had to make a new friends all over again. He will be on the GW when it gets to VA. If he needs a friendly face to talk to my sailor would be more then happy to show him around, thats if they are in or near the same shop. My sailor is in IT. If you want PM me and I will give you my sons name for a point of contact for your sailor.

Good Morn Group.....

my sailors has bounced around a lot, he never had any problem, but then again he does ask and speak up.....there's usually plenty of sailors to help them get settled....

Alyce, when he goes to Norfolk, at the gate they'll get him a duty driver and should give him a "tour" of the places he will need to know about....I don't remember which move was but my sailors "sponsor" was out to sea so he went to the USO at the airport and a vet gave him a ride to base....

My sailor is on a squadron, not ship staff, he usually emails at least every week, sometimes we're on at the same time to live chant...mostly calls home after getting a hotel in port...well, this cruise our phone plan charges only $1 a minute extra vs $3 a minute from his last cruise.......have you heard of viper?? Free international phone call app....

I send a package every month, I have a collection of theme duct tape, as packages need lots of tape!!...this month like I'll use the "water print", next month mac & cheese print....yup, a whole shelf in the garage of boxes and tape....lol
