Good evening! My son is shipping out tomorrow! He graduated on the 22nd. They're allowing him to spend time with his "squad" for 15 days before heading to his duty station in......HAWAII!!!!!

FYI...I HIGHLY recommend attending their small graduation ceremony. Although not like bootcamp, it was still very special and well-worth the trip. He even got to spend the weekend with us off base!

Good morning - my son arrived in the wee hours of the morning today. Hoping that he and his other shipmates will be able to get some rest today. Any other new Sub Moms out there?

Tamela, my comment was for Jolene, but the same pretty much applies. Don't plan on it, assume the worst, but he can ask. Since y'all are married, he'll be having a lot of briefings and discussions with the chain of command anyway.

Well, that would depend where he is going after BESS, and how far away home is. Assuming that he is in one of the A schools, and he can leave after working day Fri and be back Sun, and he doesn't have duty, it might be possible. Unlikely, don't plan on it, but he can ask.

My husband graduates BESS a week before I graduate high school so I won't be able to attend his graduation. Does anyone know if it will be possible for him to have leave for my graduation? Also is there some sort of wait period between BESS and A School if they are both in Groton?

Hello Everyone.... Our son will be graduation BESS in a couple of weeks. We are hoping he can come home for the weekend of July 16th for a family reunion. Can anyone tell me if this would be totally out of the question for him? He graduation PIR on 03/11.

My husband just arrived to Groton A couple of days ago. He says he will be there for schools about 13 months. Does anyone know if I will get to move with him sometime after BESS?
