Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by LindaGirl on September 15, 2016 at 10:00pm: Just found out today, my youngest son, leaves for Navy Boot Camp, Nov. 16th as a Machinest Mate on a sub! Boy, was that a surprise, never expected him to be on a sub, as his older brother is, also!

I see you have a son stationed here in Norfolk. I thought I would let you know that my husband (retired Navy Chaplain) and I have had a military ministry in our home here in Virginia Beach for the past 16 years. We invite the sailors to come over on the weekends to hang out. We feed them and play board games, go mini-golfing, sometimes bowling, go to reenactments in the area, etc.

We would be happy to invite your son over if he is interested. Just let us know. We can pm you our cell number.

Spoke to my son on Thursday and he's back to sleeping normally. . .well, as normal as it can get being on the midnight to noon shift! But he sounded great! Alert, quick, needed some information from me but that's OK. When I told him he sounded real good, he was surprised and confirmed he is getting sleep now. Thank You, Jesus! He said he should be able to make it to church Sunday since he doesn't have work. His brother is home on leave from Norfolk this holiday weekend so I'm a happy mama all the way around.

I too agree that they learn on their own. when my son was stationed in California, they drove from South Carolina to California. I am proud of the adult my son has become. im know we are all proud of our sailors!!

But they can still act like little boys to sometimes. A few weeks ago one of mine called to day he was all tucked in his bed and just called to say good night.

Their POs tell them what to do or their shipmates give them advice but in the end they make their own decisions. Another good point is when they ask for our advice and listen! My 2 sailors talk to their Dad now more than ever!
