Merry Christmas everyone!

Thank you Popeyesmomma.

JayDee I sent my daughter two packages on Dec 6th. She received one of them on the 16th but still hasn’t received the other one. Kind of discouraging since her birthday is in two weeks and I want to send her another package.

Comment by Popeyesmomma on December 9, 2019 at 5:39pm

I don't know about your daughter's address, but I can tell you how I mail packages to my son.  The first line is his rank/title and name.  The second line is his ship.  The third line is his unit. The fourth line is the FPO AE # (like a zip code).  So, my son's is:

Mmn3 ('his name')

USS George H W Bush, CVN 77

Unit 10***1 Box 4**6, Div. Rm.

FPO AE 09513

United States

Note: The asteriks are actual numbers, but I didn't want to give too much info.  I was able to send packages - even from Amazon.  Good Luck!

Anyone here that knows how to completely write out an address to the ship? My sailor gave me her address that was basically a photo she took and sent me where she just filled in her Box number. But then under that number was one letter and one number. She doesn’t know how to properly address  it so I’m not sure how to do it either. Can someone please clarify for me so I can ship a Christmas package to her. Any help would be appreciated. I would hate for her to not get it because I didn’t  address it correctly. Thanks ahead of time for the help. Deanna

Ok so right now the command for the Lincoln has put out a post that they do not want packages sent to the ship - I guess they are getting inundated with people wanting to help and they are concerned about getting a bunch of boxes that are just being randomly sent. They are trying to figure out a way that will best handle the situation.  Once that is confirmed I'll pass on the info.

I think they were surprised at how many Navy moms/families would want to get involved!

The Lincoln's deployment has been extended again.  The information below is from the Ombudsman of the Bush

Hi all one of our sister ships is in need. They have been out to sea since April and haven’t had a port call in a very long time.....

⚓The USS Abraham Lincoln was scheduled to return home before Halloween. They have already been at sea for over 8 months and have been extended again until sometime spring 2020.

As you can imagine, this news has been hard on the Sailors and they could use some love to get them through this seemingly never ending deployment. They are all feeling extremely down about spending Thanksgiving and Christmas at sea.

Their families have put out an SOS to all they can reach, to help boost their morale and let them know that people from all over think about them and care, they are asking for care packages and/or holiday cards be sent to the ship.

Do not feel obligated to participate, but if you are compelled, the suggested care package items are:

 Holiday decorations

Toiletries (for women too)

Beef jerky

Gum

Non-chocolate candy (chocolate rarely survives the shipping process) Games (cards, Uno, old school stuff) Used video games (they have a variety on consoles onboard) Used movies (DVD’s) Books Cards (especially from kids) Tuna packets Seeds (sunflower in shells and other) Girl Scout cookies Energy Bars Peanut Butter Fruit snacks Goldfish crackers Store bought snacks Stocking stuffer type small gifts All the other usual care package items....

I recommend using flat rate boxes to reduce shipping costs or send something via Amazon Prime.

Please send me a private message on here if you would like the address to send a package.
