Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 241 and 242

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is 241 also. Just wondring, he has called twice but both were short 3 minute calls and I have seen others having 20-30 minute calls so I thought maybe it's just his division?? Anyone else in this division get long calls?

Mine is in 241, also. He called twice and I missed one. They have been about 10-25 min each. Last time he called was Jul 3 and I could hear someone in the back ground yell time or whatever and he said he had to get off. I don't know how the phone calls work. I do wish we knew ahead of time or a planned day so that I can be sure to have my phone nearby. Its hard for me to talk at work. The new CO is pro-family communication,  so that's good to know.

Hi, my son is Div 242, he has made 2 calls so far (1 to us and 1 to his sweetheart) and we have received 2 letters.....miss him so much!!!!!

My son is in division 242. I have received two letters and short 5 minute phone calls on Saturdays. He says he is very stressed. But he is
hanging in there. Is anyone else's son in this division?

No, hasn't called.  Has been on Saturdays.  He wrote this week, and he is very stressed.  It was a sad letter for me.  All I can do is keep encouraging him.

Boot camp is very much a mental exercise, as well as physical. I went through boot camp several years ago and once I got the idea about the mental part, everything fell into place. I stressed that to my son, don't let them get to you......! They are half way done!  Good luck to your son and I hope he is getting along better now.

My son is also in Division 242. I got a 3rd call from him today and my 1st letter from him also. He says he is doing good already passed his physical tests and sounds upbeat but he says somethings are pretty stressful. He says their div is starting to come together and they all are working to be a Hall of Fame Division, so hopefully:)
That would be so awesome to see them reach that goal!!! We received a letter from him today 8)
ZachD's Mom, Yes it would be..fingers crossed! So happy with my letter I've read it about 5 times already..lol! My son said Div 241 and 242 are of the few divisions that are non intergrated.

My son is in 241. What does "non intergrated" mean??

241 and 242 are all male divisions, most the other Divisions are intergrated and have both female & males.

Happy 4th of July, Division 241 and 242 Moms. My recruit is in division 242. I received two letters and a 3 calls. I missed one last weekend. :( On a happier note. I spoke to my son yesterday, he sounded great. It was wonderful to hear his voice. He did say that his division was going for Hall of Fame Division. My thoughts are with them all, its great they have come together.

FYI... there is a way we can get a division picture posted. On the RTC facebook page answer the trivia Tuesday question correct.

Hooyah, Division 242!
