My son is shipping out in less than a week  - on December 1! I am so excited for him and so proud!

Are there any other Texas moms out there with sons/daughters with the same ship date?  I would love to connect!

My son is a December 1 shipper from Texas.

Sending hugs to you! I know I'm feeling the emotional rollercoaster today. Where are your kiddos shipping from? Mine is in San Antonio.

Hugs to you too! It is an emotional roller-coaster for sure. My son is a little older he is 25 so it may be a little easier for me. We are from the Houston area.

Thanks, Mar. :) Where does your son report to in the Houston area? Just curious.

Well ours is in Cleveland a little north of Houston. How old is your son?

Hi Terces,

Yes I bet they are at the same place. I have already lit my candle. I will burn it till I see him again. I could not be at MEPS but he did just text me that he just got there at 7 this morning. Tell me later how it went.

Well, he's on the plane!  Made it through a long day of processing, but he is officially a sailor now and heading to GL!  So proud.  I didn't get as weepy as I thought I would...but had a couple of close calls!  Now I am looking forward to getting my phone call once he arrives at RTC.

I hope both your sons had a smooth processing day.  I know they are going to have a long night ahead of them all, I'm sure!

Hi MommaBear,

Mine is on the plane to GL too. All went well at MEPS. What a day. What a week for them and us it will be.

Definitely, MarNavyMom!  Crazy but fun.  New challenges, new learning.  The next step on their journey!  Guess we have to go over to the Bootcamp Moms page now - lol!

My son arrived in Chicago at 8:30 and I just got my call! Short and sweet, but all is well and he sounded GOOD! Onward ho on this journey!

I got mine at almost 10 pm last night. Sounded serious but good too. Here we go...

So glad to find this post!!  My son shipped out of DFW on the 1st!!  Has it really only been two days??
